Halloween Event
Hallowed greetings be unto thee! Welcome to another year at Melodia, home of the Melodia Academy, the magical place where Talon Tales and the Melodians host the annual Haunted Festival for the season of Halloween!
Centuries ago, Melodia was founded by two prodigal wizards of their era, and has flourished significantly through the ages. The doors to Melodia and its academy were first opened to outsiders during the 2018 year as part of the Halloween festival, with numerous new students flocking in and becoming a student of the Melodia Academy. By enrolling in one of the four houses of Melodia Academy, students competed against each other in a friendly competition.
The yearly Haunted Festival in the world of Talon Tales is never without its theatrical highlights – one could and would easily believe that one of the houses of Melodia Academy is to be blamed for contributing to the annual misadventures. The year 2021 saw the joint venture of both Melodia Academy and its rival Cuisinia Academy, in conjunction with the celebration of the Haunted Festival, organized a tournament as well as a series of friendly competitions among the students of both schools. In 2022, we saw that Cuisinia’s champions demanded a rematch after the Mummy Spaghetti catastrophe, where they promptly loss to the visiting foreigners once again. This time, Cuisinia has accepted their loss officially.
…And so begins the next episode update of Melodia; Restoration of Melodia Vol 1.
Shortly after the events of Banquet of Symphony Vol. 2, Grandmaster Zarevok officially began living up to his promises during his campaign. Officially spearheading The Great Melodia Liberation of 2022 with the help of Sammy Belmont and dozens of volunteers, the monsters of the Racas Forest would finally be permanently pushed away from Melodia Town once and for all, in addition to Borg the Destroyer finally being neutralized after so many years. After these events, the monsters of the Racas Forest never became hostile toward Melodia residents ever again. However, they would still show their fangs to foreigners.
The liberation effort would become a major milestone in Melodia’s rich history. Zarevok’s actions would formally unite the people of Melodia and the Academy, which dispelled any past tensions the two sides once had. It also became extremely hard to argue between Academy Staff and Melodia Townsfolk that Zarevok wasn’t the greatest Grandmaster the academy has ever seen, only below the founders Algo and Muse. These events would ultimately attract the attention of outsiders who would choose to enroll into the academy as students and staff, and non-academy foreigners to make plans to permanently settle in Melodia (once the reconstruction is done). The skys of Melodia becomingnoticeably lighter than before, it is very clear that Melodia has entered a new golden age of prosper. Only Odin knows what the future may hold for the grandmaster’s legacy and reign, but it’s clear that he lived up to his promises and has an extremely positive heart.
After the liberation effort ended. Zarevok, with the help of Lord Royston‘s nearly infinite riches, would begin assisting the Melodian’s construction effort on the newly liberated lands that were once lost. A new town square has began construction where the old one was previously lost, a memorable was constructed there which honors the lives of those that sacrificed themselves in battle believing in Zarevok’s cause, additional space was created in the market square (with plans to expand further), a park was created above there, and a new railroad system has been constructed which leads to a new area created and founded as The Racas Forest Preserve. Despite everything that has happened, Zarevok designated this place as a safe haven for the remaining monsters where they can live peacefully far away from Normankind. It has since become a popular hiking, camping, and tourist attraction for the Melodian Residents. While they are not fully done with the reconstruction effort just yet, it was clear to all involved that the festival could still take place this year, which leads us to today…
Aside from the usual Melodia Halloween Festival being held. Zarevok, combined with the guidance and consulting of Gladius Ingrid, has designed a brand new tournament which will take the place of the Battle of the Academies tournament for the foreseeable future. It has been officially named The Melodia Gauntlet. Where Four Champions of Melodia will be chosen for that respective year by Grandmaster Zarevok personally to challenge visiting foreigners as a form of entertainment and a true test of strength from all different parts of the world and backgrounds. The hopes are that this could be the beginning of something beautiful and a major attraction at Melodia for years to come.
Students returning to Melodia this year will find familiar faces from Melodia, be it friends, rivals or both. Participate and find out what Melodia has to offer this year for Halloween, from the school to the manor, from the town to the Racas Forest Preserve; enjoy them all in this year’s episode of Halloween: Restoration of Melodia Vol. 1!
A visit to Melodia brings you a unique opportunity to play together with your friends, engage in competitive mini games, embark on a spooky quest, and as always – win fantastic prizes! To begin, simply find and talk to the Ferryman NPC in Prontera and he will ferry you to Melodia Academy. That is where your adventure truly begins!
2023 Updates
For this year’s Halloween Event, we have made many updates that will improve your gameplay experience and a focus on overall accessibility for most players. True to the name of the episode, we have made an extensive effort to improving the overall event, especially after the results of our Halloween Event 2022 Survey, which got 99 responses! Here’s a rundown on what was changed. Brace yourselves, for there’s plenty to cover here:
General Event Updates
A brand new storyline quest with exciting new rewards! On top of that, recoloring NPCs for not only this year’s quest rewards, but even those from previous years! Where to start? Let’s try with your house leaders first!
Updated Melodia Town map design! The Town is more spacious than ever before, opening up a lot of room for Trick or Treaters and Town Games, among future expansion.
Updated overall Halloween Ticket amounts throughout the event. Most activities now reward you with significantly more tickets. Rewards have been made slightly more expensive as a result, but many new rewards have been added to Trick or Treat Boxes!
Trick or Treaters can no longer move to a location within a 9×9 AoE of another NPC. This should fix the annoying issue of Trick or Treaters sometimes spawning on top of important NPCs.
Added Minigame Quirk Warp NPCs in Melodia Town, harkening back to how older Halloween Events used to be, that will take you directly to the Melodia Manor rooms associated with minigames that are currently active. These NPCs are the same ones as the hosts of those minigames (with the exception of Ingrid also warping to the Amazing Ragna Race, since it’s the same room in the Manor) so they should be very easy to recognize (in addition to a billboard above them indicating what minigame they’re associated with). Furthermore, A Green Event Bubble will appear above these NPCs (both in Melodia Town and their Melodia Manor counterparts) when these minigames are currently activated. This should make it a lot easier to tell what games are currently enabled.
The Eileen Warper NPC is now only present in every Melodia Manor minigame room and will warp you back instantly to Melodia Town with no Lucky Candy cost. This system replaces the previous Eileen Warper system. She is also easily identifiable now with a Green Event Bubble in the same sort of way the minigame NPCs now are.
Updated the Fixed Movement Speed Mechanic in all of Melodia’s maps. Players will now move significantly faster by default everywhere. In Melodia Town, all players now move at Sleipnir Speed consistently (+25%). Inside the Melodia Manor and Melodia Academy maps, all players now move at Twice the Sleipnir Speed consistently (+50%).
Removed Spirit Booster NPCs from all maps except Melodia Town (because it is now redundant outside of Melodia Town) and rearranged Spirit Booster placements.
Spirit Booster NPCs now last 10 Seconds instead of 20 Seconds, but boost speed even more than before.
One of Two toilets in every House Lounge now functionally works! You’re welcome!
The Secret Item now has a Purple Pillar Effect when it drops.
The Racas Forest Preserve (formally The Racas Forest)
Is now a single map as opposed to the three difficulty system. After our survey results, we have determined that making a single map (between the difficulty of Easy and Intermediate ballpark estimate) is the best design approach. We hope that this makes this part of the event even more accessible than ever before for a majority of players. This new single map is Unrestricted Mode, and Alts are no longer allowed inside of this map compared to previous years!
Increased different species of Normal Monsters from 3 per map to 5. The weakest monsters spawn the most, the intermediate monsters spawn the second most, and the really powerful monsters only spawn 5 at a time. Evil Matchan, Gimmetreet, Dire Wolfear, Guitrawr Solo, and Stabin Yu all make a return in this map with completely updated mob and skill designs aimed to be more accessible than before.
In addition to the above changes, among some stat and skill tweaks, you can also expect the new monster lineup to have the following Races and Elements. These changes should allow Acolyte and Priest classes to have some more fun on the map!
Evil Matchan is Plant/Undead.
Gimmetreet is Undead/Undead.
Dire Wolfear is Demon/Shadow.
Guitrawr Solo is Undead/Undead.
Stabin Yu is Demon/Shadow.
Guitrawr Solono longer casts Dispell.
Increased the amount of different MvPs that can appear in the Racas Forest from 1 per map to 1 of 5 in the new map! You heard that right, there are five different MvPs that can appear! Who knows what kind of terrifying creatures may appear this time. At least you know Borg the Destroyer is out of the picture. The way MvPs are rotated in works nearly the same way it does for LH3 and LH4 MvPs, for comparison.
There is now an event-wide global announcement any time an MvP is spawned in The Racas Forest Preserve, making MvP kills even more competitive and accessible than before!
Updated Drop Pools for both Normal Mobs and MvPs. Some item lineups may will be familiar from previous years, but a lot of changes will surprise players with how generous they are!
The Overall Ticket Drop system has changed in numerous ways. Primarily due to the single map merge, among other things (such as the overall feedback). One of the biggest changes being that an overall focus on Individual Rewards here has been prioritized, with a focus of party play and house points as a secondary focus.
When players are together in a party and a party member picks up a Ticket from the ground, all party members within view range of that looter will also receive the ticket as if they picked it up (as long as they haven’t already met their cap, of course). This should make party play extremely accessible for The Racas Forest Preserve combined with the overall mob balance changes. We encourage you to play with your friends and with other players in your house!
Ticket Drops and its cap are no longer bound to Happy Hour status! You can now farm tickets at The Racas Forest Preserve any time you want up until a certain cap. This in turn means Happy Hour being enabled will now only activate the House Point competition part of the forest.
The Ticket Cap has been increased from 10~30 to a flat 100 Tickets. The Ticket Drop Cap now resets at Midnight instead of the next Happy Hour. This change should alleviate fear of missing out on your tickets and allow players to get their overall ticket grind over a lot sooner, which in turn allows people to spend more time on other aspects of the event such as minigame competitions.
A new Kill Quest has been introduced to The Racas Forest Preserve. Kill 100 of any combination of monsters at the Racas Forest Preserve, and you will earn 10 Tickets. This quest has the same cooldown reset as the ticket cap!
The Ticket Drop Rate for all monsters except MvPs is now 5.5% across the board.
Updated the way Happy Hour point generation works. It now uses a party member scaling system similar to the Old Glast Heim quest item rates. Party member multiplier only counts if these members are in your view distance when the mob is killed. The point scaling works in the following way;
1 player : 1 Points per 5 kills
2~3 same house : 1 Points per 4 kills
4~6 same house : 2 Points per 4 kills
7~9 same house : 2 Points per 3 kills
10~12 same house : 3 Points per 3 kills
Increased MvP House Points Reward to 600 for all MvPs.
All Racas Forest Preserve MvPs now have a 0.2% chance to drop a Random MvP Card upon killing them! You will get a notification above your character’s head when this happens.
Instance
Introduces a brand new Instance Ruleset in both Practice Instances and the Full Instance. This is a highly experimental systemthat changes a lot of normal mechanics in the game. This also replaces the previous handicap system of the tournament from the previous two years. More on this in the instance section!
Increased amount of opponents from 3 to 4.
Now has the Treasure Chest mechanic in the Full Instance like the one that is present in Old Glast HeimINSTEAD of the MvPs themselves dropping loot. The party’s size makes no influence on the rates, they’re the same for everybody. The chest will appear after your opponent is defeated, and will be able to loot the chest before the next opponent is called in. While this system does have potential to generate more items into the economy, we determined our players having fun and having equal shots at getting items they want instead of struggling to divide rewards takes priority.
Practice Instances no longer reward House Points upon completion.
Opponent HP no longer increases for each additional round like it did in previous years. All opponents now have 5m HP consistently between each round.
There is no longer any cooldown on the instance (including practice rounds) except for Treasure Chest Rewards (which resets at Midnight). This will allow a lot of forgiveness in instance completion and allow you to play together with your friends in a flexible matter.
Party size requirement has been changed. Instead of 6 fixed players, you can now bring anywhere between 2 ~ 8 Players into this instance. During the Practice Instance, the party size can be anything.
Alts are no longer allowed inside of the Full Instance, but are allowed in the Practice Instances!
There is no longer a Magic Quill requirement to enter the instance. By extension, the Magic Quill has been removed.
Increased Revives for each round to 20 per person.
Added the Return Mechanic that is present in SQI Instances and Old Glast Heim. You can return to this instance up to 5 times which is bound to the party (the same way it works in Old Glast Heim).
Added a Ranking Leaderboard to the Full Instance. The party with the fastest time will win a prize this year!
Minigames and Minigame System
Whack a Ghostring has been removed from the minigame roster this year. Our survey results indicated that it was the worst scored of the bunch (performing astronomically low compared to all other games) as well as introducing all sorts of problems regarding client crashes, overall maintenance to make it work, and an extremely high dependency on ping. We made the call that it was best to remove the game this year.
Zombie Run has been -temporarily- removed from the minigame roster this year. It was clear to us that even though the minigame scored highly on our survey, that the design of the minigame has a plethora of problems, has a very high equipment ceiling (making it inaccessible for most players), and as a result needs to be reworked as a minigame concept. Zombie Run could very likely see a return as soon as the 2024 Halloween Event.
Honeycomb routes have been shuffled as per usual.
The Racas Forest Preserve Happy Hour no longer runs together with Casino Games. It is now treated as a proper minigame type (comparable to Town Games) in the minigame lineup.
Updated Minigame Rotation to the followingpossibilities:
Inbetween Minigames: Blackjack and Guess the Number.
Pool 1: Halloween Challenge and Racas Forest Preserve Happy Hour.
Pool 2: The Amazing Ragna Race and Town Games.
Pool 3: Shadow Tag and Racas Forest Preserve Happy Hour.
Pool 4: Walk Of Life and Town Games.
Introduced a brand new Secret Quest to find Error. He now also has a variety of new rewards. Can you unravel the mystery?!
And much more!
House Competition
The Halloween festival at Melodia has been and will always be a competition among the houses of Melodia Academy. As such, participating in the competition requires you to be assigned into one of the four noble houses.
House Windsor
Led by Remy
House Guile
Led by Faa
House Sorin
Led by Sola
House Emure
Led by Sydo
Begin the enrollment process by speaking to Monny (The Grand Monemus) in Melodia Academy.
You can find Monny in the left wing of the academy building, which is where you are first teleported by the Ferryman.
While your preferences may be weighed in, Monny is ultimately responsible for sorting you into a fitting house, and will pick for you based on what it believes your capabilities can offer.
Note that your house assignment will apply to all characters within your master account. We highly recommend consolidating your individual participation to one character – so you can maximize your earned points and prizes more effectively!
Once you have been assigned into a house, you can embark on this year’s Halloween quest by exploring Melodia and seeing what you might discover. Who knows what creepy and unsuspecting events may happen! Work together with your friends from other houses and discover what dark forces have been lurking around unseen. Rumor has it that you will earn unique rewards based on what house you were sorted into for this year’s Main Quest!
The Ferryman will then offer to send you to the town of Melodia, the academy or the Melodia manor at your request! You will receive an achievement and a title upon joining a house! To equip the title once you earn the achievement for joining your house, do the following:
If your status menu (aka icons) is not already open, do so by clicking the tiny down arrow right under the Status UI.
Go to the bottom left and select the Achievement Challenges Trophy Icon.
While in the Achievements UI, select the Adventure tab.
Navigate to the Achievement you just earned, go to the bottom right, and click the Collect button.
If not already opened, access your Equipment Window by pressing [ALT + Q], and make your way to the right most tab at the top, “Title”.
You’ll see the name of the house you just got sorted to here (Windsor, Guile, Sorin, Emure). Equip it by double clicking it, and that’s that!
Activities
Visit the Melodia Manor at the east side of the town and discover multiple rooms of mini games available. Melodia Academy has partnered with the lord of the manor to host competitive games here. Take note though, the butler will always be watching you.
Blackjack & Guess the Number
The Melodia Haunted Casino is open for business! Play special party-based rounds of Blackjack rotating alongside a haunted Guess the Number mini game. Strike it rich for your opportunity to win tickets!
This micro event will be available during the festival, and recommended for when you’re waiting in between hourly rounds of other events!
Halloween Challenge
Even the students of Melodia Academy recall this classic Halloween game involving candy – a favorite! Fight through traps and snares and pitfalls as you work your way to collect Candy Bags. Find as many as you can for a higher reward!
The Labyrinth
Once open (in the second week of the event), the Labyrinth is the home of some truly foul magic and energy, and it will be up to you and your friends to follow Kirkena’s suggestions as you navigate through the challenge.
The goal of the Labyrinth is to guide your party of four through the maze as fast as possible successfully!
Amazing Ragna-Race
Participate with a group of players in a race up the spiraling hill.
There will be Horong Booster to increase your speed when ran into temporarily, but watch out for those random Ankle Snares as well!
You will find Item Boxes along the race track – these will greatly aid you by giving a boost or slowing everybody else down. If you’re lucky, you might even swap position with another racer ahead of you or slow everybody else down!
The fastest three racers to cross the finishing line on the bridge at the hilltop will be crowned as winners. Winning 1st place will earn points for your house! This is definitely not a casual stroll up a hill.
Shadow Tag
In this team based game, all 4 houses in a free for all setting are assigned to kill a Doom Troop named after their house.
However, not every Doom Troop is fond of being attacked. They can retaliate by disrupting your attacks.
First person to take down his/her team’s Doom Troop will win some house points and all members of the winning house participating in the game can walk away with some Halloween tickets and bragging rights.
If on rotation still and a Doom Troop is defeated. There is a short cooldown before they spawn again and another round begins.
If the time runs out before any Doom Troop has been taken down, the team with the lowest Doom Troop health will be declared the winning team.
But keep in mind! If you keep winning too often, your Doom Troop keeps getting harder to take down. You’ll have to bring all your house members to keep up the pace!
Throw curses at your opposing houses to disrupt their Doom Troop killing spree. Simply talk to the referee to see how you can be up to no good.
You can not use auto attacks in this mode.
Walk of Life
An exciting minigame introduced last year based on the Red Light Green Light game.
Equip the Green Jogging Suit item given to you at the start of the game and find the new Board Walk skill in your skill list. Use the skill’s various skill levels (check the description!) to move around the map. Regular movement does not work!
Only walk when the game says Green Light and STOP walking when it says Red Light. Players who are caught walking during a red light will be eliminated.
The first three players who reach the finish line win!
Outside the manor, you can find town games being hosted by Melodia residents as well.
Poring Seek
Mischievous Porionettes roam around the town when this mini game begins – can you be the one to kill the most within five minutes? You’ll race against the clock and one another to see who will win the round, plus the house with the most wins will win additional team-wide points!
Simon Says
Copy the movements exactly as ordered – or else, you’re out! Be sure to follow the instructions carefully in this minigame which is harder than it looks. If you win, points and tickets await – plus the house with the most wins will win additional team-wide points!
Simon’s Sequence
You’ve obeyed Simon, but can you find all the Simons in this meta-Simon experience?! If so, follow the sequence closely and run around the Festival for a chance to earn points for you and your house.
At the central-right area of Melodia, Conductor Chu awaits players to board the newly constructed Melodia Express to take them to its first stop, The Racas Forest Preserve. Speak to him to gain access and venture into the forest preserve north of Melodia Town.
The Racas Forest Preserve
The Racas Forest Preserve is open all the time. Tickets drop all the time even without Happy Hour. Every Normal Monster (MvPs are excluded) has a 5.5% chance to drop a ticket. You can collect up to 100 Tickets per day, which resets at Midnight Server Time. Furthermore, when a party member picks up a ticket, all party member within that person’s view distance will gain a ticket (as long as they haven’t already met their caps).
Unlike previous years, there is now a single, Unrestricted Enabled, map that all players will go to! The difficulty of these mobs ranges between High Orc ~ Ice Titan, as a ballpark estimate, mostly leaning toward the High Orc end of the spectrum with the exception of the most difficult mob (which there are only 5 of in the map).
You can expect a Happy Hour Mechanic which is enabled during the same time as The Halloween Challenge and Shadow Tag. During this happy hour, monster kills will grant you points if you’re in a party with at least one other member of your house. These points will be tallied at the end of the Happy Hour. The House with the most earned points will win that Happy Hour and earn points toward the final score for their house this year! The way points are distributed are as follows. The amount varies depending on how many members in the same house are together in the party. The scaling works as follows:
1 player : 1 Points per 5 kills
2~3 same house : 1 Points per 4 kills
4~6 same house : 2 Points per 4 kills
7~9 same house : 2 Points per 3 kills
10~12 same house : 3 Points per 3 kills
Every 2 to 3 Hours, 1 of 5 random terrifying Halloween MvPs will spawn in The Racas Forest Preserve. When these powerful monsters arrive, there is a global announce that’s event-wide so that all players will learn of its existence. The first person to gain MvP Status by killing the MvP (and making the most progress on the MvP) immediately earns 600 points toward their house! These points will be added even if Happy Hour is disabled.
Halloween Instance – The Melodia Gauntlet
This year, players are invited to take on The Melodia Gauntlet challenge at Melodia Arena where you will fight Melodia’s 4 Champions in a row. While the full version of this instance is only unlocked after the first week of the festival, players can unlock practice rounds to prepare themselves for the full instance right at the start of the event. Players can enter these instances an unlimited amount of times and unlike previous years, the full version does not require a Magic Quill to gain entry!
Practice Rounds
Speak to Grandmaster Zarevok in the Grandmaster’s Chambers upon arriving to Melodia Academy. There, you can ask him about your opponents. He will inform you that he will not tell you about your opponents directly. Instead, you must seek out Melodia’s champions yourself, discover their status, and ultimately unlock the ability to practice against them. A few notes about the practice instances:
Any Party Size is allowed to enter.
Alts are allowed to enter.
Melodia Tournament Instance (Full Instance)
This is the real deal tournament which opens up after a week has passed during the festival. Speak to Seymour the Stone to gain access once it does open. A Few notes about the full instance:
A Party Size of anywhere between 2 ~ 8 Players is required to enter this instance.
Alts are not allowed in this instance.
Each party member has a death limit of 20 per round, which restores back to 20 when successfully completing any round.
Players can re-enter the instance up to 5 times for any reason (shared across the entire party!). This re-entry limit, unlike lives, does NOT restore between rounds!
Upon defeating any opponent at the tournament, a Treasure Chest will appear near Cyrus’s location at the end of the round, giving EACH player a chance at some loot. If you don’t loot it before the next round sets up though, you lose your chance, so be quick!! You can do this once per round, and will be unable to loot it again for that specific round until after Midnight Server Time. In addition to Halloween Tickets (which are guarantied to come out of the chest in fixed amounts per player), bonus rewards can also come out of the chest which varies from opponent to opponent! Every time you open the Treasure Chest, there is also a 0.2% chance that you will get a random MvP card. The Chest Rewards are as follows:
Halloween Tickets:
1st Opponent Defeated: 16 Tickets.
2nd Opponent Defeated: 24 Tickets.
3rd Opponent Defeated: 36 Tickets.
4th Opponent Defeated: 54 Tickets.
Random MvP Card at a 0.2% chance!
Non-Equipment:
Treasure Chests, Oridecon Boxes, Elunium Boxes, High Weapons Boxes, Most Valuable Boxes, Leak Claw, Young Twig, and brand new eggs and costumes.
Equipment:
Pitch Dark Evil Druid Hat [1], Prison Uniform [1], Thief Handcuff [1], Shadow Staff [2], Ice Pick [1].
Ruleset for the Instance (both Practice and Full)
This instance introduces a brand new, experimental ruleset that we are trying for the first time. Depending on how it goes over with the player base, it may find more usage in the future in other and/or permanent content (or some of its ideas). Feedback and suggestions on this ruleset are highly appreciated as players try it out! The rules are as follows:
1) Opponents will always say the name of the skill they are about to cast. This should make it a lot easier to know how to plan for certain opponents.
2) The Bow Math Formula is disabled. This means Bow and Gun attacks deal slightly less damage.
3) CRIT Shield Mechanic goes up by 1 for -EACH- point of LUK instead of every 5 LUK.
4) Opponents will never break your items! Furthermore, you can still inflict the strip effect with breaking effects on mobs!
5) GTB Card, Osiris Card, Vanberk Card, and Valkyrie Card’s Dispell have no effect.
6) Earthquake is Earth Element instead of Neutral Element. This will make it a lot easier to reduce combined with the updated Element Table (more on this in a moment!).
7) Steel Body adds 75 DEF/MDEF instead of 90.
8) DEF/MDEF Bypass/Reduction through cards and equipment have no effect. Examples include Thanatos Card, Vesper Card, and Executioner Sword. Critical Hits still ignore DEF!
9) Fling lowers enemy HIT by (5 * coin amt)% Instead of reducing DEF.
10) Piercing Shot no longer ignores DEF. Instead, it inflicts 1% more Skill Mod damage for every CRIT the user has.
11) Spiral Pierce and Union ignores 35% of DEF instead of 100% bypass.
12) Dispell has a 2 Minute Cooldown, Spellbreaker has a 1 Minute Cooldown, and Land Protector has a 10 Second Cooldown.
13) Land Protector lasts 10 Seconds at all levels.
14) Biggest change of all! An updated Element Table will be used. It is the same consistently for all monster element levels. Below is a table that references the new multipliers:
Competitions
Competitions are the essence of the Halloween festival! The competitive activities offered by Melodia pits all four houses against each other through a huge variety of mini games, designed to test your skills, proficiency and perhaps luck as well. Be certain to try out all of them to experience everything Melodia has to offer you, and also earn points for your house and tickets for yourself.
House Competition
House Points will determine which of the four houses will emerge as victorious this year. House points can be earned by anyone for their team through participating in the Halloween mini games. The Melodia Academy registrar will be keeping a record of the scores hidden until the end of the Halloween festival, when the winning house and runner-up house will be announced!
A special prize will also go to all adventurers who are affiliated with the winning houses!
The house that places first will win one of these at its member’s own choice:
Special Honorary Degrees will be awarded to the thirteen (13) most intrepid adventurers who have helped to settle this year’s tie. Individual prizes will be handed out to winners of various mini games who have demonstrated that their skills are on par with the best-in-class students of each house! Those individuals with the most points at the end of the entire Halloween festival will be announced and receive a special, exclusive prize!
Note that top-performance is character driven – so to compete in this area, we recommend participating in the Haunted Festival using a single character of your choice, as points are not tallied across all characters in your master account.
Overall, thirteen (13) players will win for top performance in each of the following categories:
The top-three (3) Minigame winners by accumulated points.
Performance will be based on the number of points accumulated on your character for all minigames. Points accumulated through Blackjack will NOT count toward this individual performance total.
The top-three (3) Racas Forest Monster Hunters by accumulated points:
Performance is based on the number of monsters killed in The Racas Forest Preserve.
The top-three (3)overall players.
This includes but is not limited to town games, minigames, Racas Forest kills and many more activities! Let the best players win~
The single fastest party of four (4) in the Labyrinth when this mini game is made available.
Be on the lookout for the Labyrinth mini game during the Haunted Festival. You’ll be able to form parties of four (4) players for this mini game.
The party of four (4) with the fastest completion time in the Labyrinth will win a Degree Award this year as well!
In addition to the above, there are also some -other- competition categories this year, which include the following:
The first party to get 100% completion in The Melodia Gauntlet Tournament Instance.
The party that has the fastest time on the Leaderboard for The Melodia Gauntlet Tournament Instance.
In recognition of outstanding efforts, each of this year’s thirteen Degree recipients, as well as the new competition winners, will receive:
Cards eligible for this prize are those currently available from the Talon Shop.
Maya Purple is furthermore excluded from this list.
In-game rewards
The main currency of the Halloween Event is the Halloween Ticket. You can obtain these through nearly every activity in the event, be it the Racas Forest, Minigames or quests. In Conclusion
The musical town of Melodia is packed with many exciting features and challenging mini games. We can’t wait to see you plunging into the festival, but we also want to give you a quick highlight of the important rules, guidelines and dates that are in place – so you can make the most out of your Halloween adventure. Be sure to review the list below so that you’re well-prepared to return to Melodia!
The use of multiple Master Accounts during this event, or possession of such multiple accounts at any time on Talon Tales, is forbidden and is a ban-worthy offense.
A status bulletin board is available in both Melodia and Melodia Academy to remind you of your house affiliation, as well as a readout of what the current hourly minigame will be (or the next one, if one is currently not in progress).
The colors of the game type correspond to color-themed map markers, available on your minimap.
The board also features some fun news and weather across Melodia (just pack accordingly if you see any dangerous activity!)
This year’s episode of Halloween: Restoration of Melodia Vol. 1 will end on November 25th, and within a few days after that, the winning house will be announced, along with this year’s house prizes and Degree Award recipients!
We hope that you enjoy what Melodia has to offer this year and we hope that you’ll emerge as one of this year’s Degree Award winners! We also hope that this will be a memorable and fun autumn season for you as we look forward to the months ahead of us.
As always, thank you for supporting Talon Tales and happy gaming! Musica est vita!
