As announced previously, due to the unfortunate sudden unavailability of the staff member responsible for the Melodia event, we had to seriously postpone the festivities as the work fell into the lap of our other staff members.
Luckily, the day has come to release the event. We’ve included the November Monthly Patch while we’re at it, because it’s, y’know, November. So we hope you all enjoy the updates!

Melodia Festival
A Hallowed and Halloween hello to all! Despite some unfortunate circumstances and setbacks (details to be found on Discord), Melodia once more opens its gates to host the Haunted, Horrifying, and Heart-stopping Halloween Festival!
While we may not have been able to implement all of the changes and updates we had wanted to, we hope that this simple, yet spookily spectacular serving of the season of spirits and scares serves you the excitement you’ve been looking for. Now, let’s get on to the Talon Tales Halloween Updates!
While this post is quite concise, you will find a lot of additional details in last year’s post as well, so be sure to check that out!
2024 Updates
Lingering Echos: After helping a lost soul find rest and her friend some peace of mind, the forces behind last year’s hauntings seem to still be at large. News of possessions, transformations, and lurking creatures disturb the peaceful town, and it’s up to you and a few returning friends to get to the bottom of it. Head to your house lead to find out what’s going on, and hopefully put a stop to this persistent pestilence once and for all.
Melodia Touch-up and the Racas Forest Revisited: We’ve added some small changes and additions to both the town map as well as the Racas forest to reinvigorate the spooky surroundings as you go about your Trick-or-Treating ways. Not everything is as it seems, as some people and places may have been moved around, but that’s more reason to explore! Also, we may not have been able to fit everything we wanted, but we managed to fit in a little trick ’round town, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for the treats we’ve hidden.
The Nightmare on Hallow’s Eve: By popular demand, the ever-beloved and beloathed Racas Forest has returned, but with a new option! The Forbidden Section introduces harder mobs but with greater rewards and more tickets to be picked up and gathered through daily quest! Dare you risk venturing deep into the dreaded woods?
The Mystery Man Makes A Comeback: Whispers abound that a mysterious item has once again been spotted amongst the forest frolickers. Retrieve this suspicious scroll and uncover its secrets. Seek the Grandmaster’s help, you’ll need it. The Man Who Hides lies in wait, and he would love to have you as his guest.
Reward Rebalancing: We want you to explore and see all that we have in store for you for this season, and not shut yourself in on just one part of it. This is why we’ve gone ahead and rebalanced a lot of our attractions and of course added a lot of new goodies to them.
Halloween Instance Hash-up: While the Halloween Instance last year may have been a push-over for some, we’ve called in Melodia’s heroes for a touch-up and a tune-up! Expect some beefier resistance this year, and a more formidable gauntlet, so bring your A-game! As usual, it will begin a week into the event, but you can do practice rounds prior to that!
Achievement’s Ahoy!: As with our previous Seasonals, we’ve also added some Achievements for this Halloween! New title rewards are up for grabs, so go out there and bring your boo-mbastic best!
2024 Full Changelog
Claiming the winning House Competition rewards now only works if you actually participated in the event. A certain amount of points gathered throughout the event is now required to claim the final reward if your house won the competition.
Updated Melodia town with new sections and several overhauls. Also updated the Racas Forest Preserve maps with new lighting, areas and textures for easier navigation.
Brand new, repeatable, storyline quest that rewards you with a new recolorable unique costume, Halloween Tickets and House Points.
Added a third Costume Collection set to the Prize Distributor with several new costumes added to it. The NPC now also no longer requires you to have existing items in your inventory to not get duplicates. It verifies if you unlocked them in the Lutie Vending Machine and won’t give them to you again if you already got them in the past. Also added back False Ears Costume after player requests.
Ferryman NPC now can warp you to four locations in Melodia: the Docks, West Plaza, Tournament and Academy.
Added a new NPC: Jolly Jelly Jill, which allows you to purchase Acorn Jelly.
Added a second room for the Halloween Labyrinth.
Updated Trick or Treaters fun new (and useful?) Trick additions.
Racas Forest Preserve
Added Forbidden Section as a more difficult option to the regular Racas Forest Preserve. This allows you to collect up to 150 Halloween Tickets daily. The ticket count is shared with the easier map. You also earn 3x more House Points per kill than you would in the regular Racas Forest Preserve map.
Daily Mission for Racas Forest Preserve now requires 200 kills rather than 100.
Added a new Daily Mission for the Forbidden Section. This rewards you with 56 Halloween Tickets rather than 32 for the easier map. It requires 125 kills to complete. You can only choose one of the two quests per day and you cannot swap between them.
Lowered Stabin Yu spawn on regular Racas Forest Preserve and added additional ones to the Forbidden Section. It also ain’t lootin’ anymore, only stabin’.
Knight of Tempest and Alpha Creature now reside in the Forbidden Section and have gotten a power-up as well as increased drops. MVPs killed in the Forbidden Section earn your house 900 points instead of 600.
When MVPs spawn in the Racas Forest Preserve and Forbidden Section, they emit a dark aura that prevents certain benefits when being resurrected.
Added Achievements for a variety of gameplay tasks. There are 28 Achievements to collect plus 3 additional ones for completing 10, 15 or 25 Achievements. For many achievements you can now also see the progress within the achievement window itself.
Added 9 new pets that can be obtained throughout the event.
Added dozens of new costumes to be obtained throughout the event.
Updated Trick or Treat Boxes with new rewards and removed some old rewards.

Added new rewards to Deviruchiling Quest.
Fixed last year’s bug where the Racas Forest Daily Quest would count towards your daily ticket cap.
Added a Kafra and Doctor next to the Tournament Instance entrance.
Updated Tournament Instance, including Ruleset and Skills:
Your party no longer gets Revive and Return Amount refills throughout the instance apart from the final fight against Zarevok. You now have a total of 30 revives per player and 10 returns per party for the entire instance. You get 10 additional revives per player for the final fight.
Your party now gets dispelled upon entering the tournament.
Lowered the amount of Halloween Tickets you can get throughout the instance, and added a daily cap of 91 tickets.
The droprates of the Treasure Chests are now lowered based on the party size. So, the fewer party members, the higher the droprates.
MVPs in the tournament now get more HP depending on the amount of party members.
+10% HP per party member for each Doom Troop.
+500k HP per party member for the other MVPs.
+700k HP per party member for Zarevok.
We are now using the updated Instance Ruleset that was introduced during last year’s Christmas Event rather than last year’s Halloween Event.
Added back a Dispel cooldown. While last year’s Halloween Event had a 2 minute cooldown, it was completely removed during Christmas. It is now added back as a 7 second cooldown.
Added a 2.5 second cooldown to Tarot Card.
Nightriff’s Equivilent Exchange now receives 75% less Melee damage versus 66% last year. Magnus Exorcismus now does 50% more damage rather than 25%.
Zarevok now ignores 40% MDEF and Magic Resistance rather than 25%.
Jump. Scares.
Enrolling into a House
The Halloween festival at Melodia has been and will always be a competition among the houses of Melodia Academy. As such, participating in the competition requires you to be assigned into one of the four noble houses. The competitive activities offered by Melodia pits all four houses against each other through a huge variety of mini games, designed to test your skills, proficiency and perhaps luck as well. Be certain to try out all of them to experience everything Melodia has to offer you, and also earn points for your house and tickets for yourself.
House Windsor
Led by Remy
House Guile
Led by Faa
House Sorin
Led by Sola
House Emure
Led by Sydo
Begin the enrollment process by speaking to Monny (The Grand Monemus) in Melodia Academy.
You can find Monny in the left wing of the academy building, which is where you are first teleported by the Ferryman.
While your preferences may be weighed in, Monny is ultimately responsible for sorting you into a fitting house, and will pick for you based on what it believes your capabilities can offer.
Note that your house assignment will apply to all characters within your master account. We highly recommend consolidating your individual participation to one character – so you can maximize your earned points and prizes more effectively!
The Ferryman will then offer to send you to the town of Melodia, the academy or the Melodia manor at your request! You will receive an achievement and a title upon joining a house! To equip the title once you earn the achievement for joining your house, do the following:
If your status menu (aka icons) is not already open, do so by clicking the tiny down arrow right under the Status UI.
Go to the bottom left and select the Achievement Challenges Trophy Icon.
While in the Achievements UI, select the Adventure tab.
Navigate to the Achievement you just earned, go to the bottom right, and click the Collect button.
If not already opened, access your Equipment Window by pressing [ALT + Q], and make your way to the right most tab at the top, “Title”.
You’ll see the name of the house you just got sorted to here (Windsor, Guile, Sorin, Emure). Equip it by double clicking it, and that’s that!
House Competition
House Points will determine which of the four houses will emerge as victorious this year. House points can be earned by anyone for their team through participating in the Halloween mini games. The Melodia Academy registrar will be keeping a record of the scores hidden until the end of the Halloween festival, when the winning house and runner-up house will be announced!
A special prize will also go to all adventurers who are affiliated with the winning houses!New this year is that in order to claim your reward, you need to have at least somewhat of a participation history with your house this year. No longer can you claim a reward by joining a house and not participating.
The house that places first will win one of these at its member’s own choice:
Increase Magical damage against Fire, Water and Wind element monsters by 2%.
Player Competitions
Special Honorary Degrees will be awarded to the thirteen (13) most intrepid adventurers who have helped to settle this year’s tie. Individual prizes will be handed out to winners of various mini games who have demonstrated that their skills are on par with the best-in-class students of each house! Those individuals with the most points at the end of the entire Halloween festival will be announced and receive a special, exclusive prize!
Note that top-performance is master account driven – so to compete in this area, so you no longer have to specifically participate with a particular character.
Overall, thirteen (13) players will win for top performance in each of the following categories:
The top-three (3) Minigame winners by accumulated points.
Performance will be based on the number of points accumulated for all minigames. Points accumulated through Blackjack will NOT count toward this individual performance total.
The top-three (3) Racas Forest Monster Hunters by accumulated points:
Performance is based on the number of monsters killed in The Racas Forest Preserve and Forbidden Section. Points only accumulate during Happy Hour.
The top-three (3)overall players.
This includes but is not limited to town games, minigames, Racas Forest kills and many more activities! Let the best players win~
The single fastest party of four (4) in the Labyrinth when this mini game is made available.
Be on the lookout for the Labyrinth mini game during the Haunted Festival. You’ll be able to form parties of four (4) players for this mini game.
In addition to the above, there are also some -other- competition categories this year, which include the following:
The first party to get 100% completion in The Melodia Gauntlet Tournament Instance.
The party that has the fastest time on the Leaderboard for The Melodia Gauntlet Tournament Instance.
In recognition of outstanding efforts, each of this year’s thirteen Degree recipients, as well as the new competition winners, will receive:
A unique, account-bound Creeper II Egg.
Your choice of MVP Card!
Cards eligible for this prize are those currently available from the Talon Shop.
Maya Purple is furthermore excluded from this list.
